Our Story
Kēhaulani Hula Studio preserves and perpetuates Hawaiʻi's traditions and cultural values through hula, chant (oli), storytelling (moʻolelo), and cultural education. Under the direction of Kumu Hula C. Pōmaikaʻi Gaui, the studio teaches adults and children, emphasizing not only the movements of hula but also the ʻike (knowledge), ʻōlelo (language), and traditions that give hula its deeper meaning.
Based in West Valley, Utah, Kēhaulani Hula Studio offers classes, workshops, performances, and educational programs that foster cultural understanding, community connection, and a lifelong appreciation for Hawaiian culture. Rooted in tradition and guided by aloha, the studio is committed to sharing Hawaiʻi's living heritage with future generations.

Who We Are
Students of Kēhaulani Hula Studio come from all walks of life, and range from beginners to advanced learners. All you need is a love for the Hawaiian culture. Students learn more than hula. We make costumes, lei, implements, and arts and crafts. We become an `Ohana, a family, that enjoys the richness of `ike palina.
History
Kēhaulani Hula Studio started in Waimānalo, Hawai`i in 1988 and moved to Salt Lake City, UT, in1996. We are a hula studio steeped in hula tradition. Kumu Pōmaika`i studied under Kumu Hula Frank Palani Kahala, and has kept his teachings close. Today, he is Kumu Hula under the tutelage of Kumu Hula Ku`ualohanui Kauli`a
